insanity

Journal Entry: Wed May 14, 2008, 4:08 AM
hi all

taking a brief journal writing break to say hi, and to let those i still owe photos to, from tfcd shoots, that i haven't forgotten, or dismissed the need to edit the photos, but rather, i am having to focus on my real world job as a graphic designer, rather than the fun stuff of taking photos

occasionally my sanity slips and i edit a photo here or there, which i really shouldn't given the pre end of financial year deadlines ive got going atm (at last count, 2 conference support material, 1 cheese festival support material, 4 websites, two 16 page food magazines, 3 company branding jobs, 2 weddings, helping :iconmishkamink: set up her freelance makeup/styling business, helping :icondalaiharma: (on occasion) with studio space/camera help and one 56page international prospectus for a major TAFE campus and no doubt trying to capture a partridge to shoot it in a pear tree i need to obviously grow) of which im sure ive forgotten some of even though i have a permanently opened text file that changes hourly

so yeah, for those ive not got fun piccies to, sorry, but hopefully you understand, and when i get to them, you will be happy when they arrive in your email/posted in dA :P if not, not a whole bunch i can do about it lol

in the meantimme, and given theres not much in the way of action in this here dA atm, here are some thumbnails for you to go check out, of local and interstate people i enjoy watching (also somewhat of a sanity break)

tis back to being a designer for me, enjoy the art world folks, ill be back properly one of these months lol

Hi all, thought I hadn't posted a journal like this in a while, so here it is, for those new to my work/dA etc :)

________________________________________________________________________________________

I'm a graphic designer during the daylight hours, based in Adelaide. I have been interested in photography since my grandfather first handed me an SX70 Polaroid camera in my early teens. Since then, and after the completion of a Visual Arts Certificate and Graphic Design Advanced Diploma, I've continued to explore photography as both a hobby, interest and artistic exploration. With themes ranging from portraiture, to fetish, to event photography, and back again, I've been on a visual meander through many different subjects.

Using knowledge I've gained through experimentation and traditional design principles I aim to capture the best of what can be seen through the viewfinder. I have exhibited my photographic work both locally and internationally, from Adelaide Central Gallery to the Echo Gallery In Chicago, USA.

Unlike many other photographers out there, I have a true passion for photography as an art form, and a strong respect for women as opposed to using a camera as a tool to exploit them. I am always interested in collaborating with creative, experienced models with a professional attitude (however, arrogance can be left at the door)

If you are interested in seeing my photographic packages price list please contact me and I shall send them through. Packages start from $100au.

I very rarely undertake TFCD shoots. When I do, I have a three to six month delay in editing/supply of the photos (minimum), and will in most cases, only edit one to two shots per outfit/theme, as I believe there is no need for more for a photographer/model portfolio. If more edited photos are desired from a tfcd shoot, then payment will be required for editing time. I supply edited photos as branded jpg files for online use, costs for prints will be supplied when requested. All tfcd shoot models will be required to sign a model release form prior to the shoot commencing. I also do not hand over unedited images, RAW files and/or every photo I take during the shoot, you will, in both TFCD and paid shoot circumstances, get the edited selection only.

-----------------------------------------

hi all

just a little note to mention to those i still owe photos too that they will happen when i get some time lol, to those who i am still to shoot, it will happen when i get some time, and to those watching and commenting and the like, more photos will be uploaded when the above two things happen lol

ill also get around to updating my website in the first half of this year, the joys of being a graphic designer = photo work is secondary

ohhh and go say hi to the wonderful :iconmishkamink: as shes back in the land of DA ... and dont forget to poke :icondalaiharma: for the fun, shes always looking for people who are happy to be face down in shrubbery or bush, playing with the critters contained within, without moving or complaining ;)

and people say im nasty haha
